Policies & Procedures

Written Down, Followed Daily,
Open to Every Parent

Good practice only counts when it is consistent, so the way we run Little Regent is set out in a comprehensive set of written policies and procedures. They guide how our educators work, and they give parents a clear account of what we have committed to.

Hard copies of every policy are kept in the reception area for parents to read at any time. If you would like something explained, or would prefer to go through a policy with us, call +971 3 766 5414 and we will be glad to help.

Our Policies

What Our Policies
Cover

Seven areas, covering everything from how a scraped knee is handled to how we recruit and train the adults who look after your child. Hard copies are available at reception.

  • 1. Health & Safety
Covers hygiene and daily sanitisation, the no-footwear rule in classrooms, padded anti-skid flooring and child-proofed furniture, supervision ratios, our on-site clinic and nurse, illness and exclusion periods, medication handling, accident recording, and civil-defence-compliant fire safety with regular mock drills. There is more detail on our health and safety page.
  • 2. Child Protection & Safeguarding
Sets out how we keep children safe from harm: rigorous background checks on every member of staff, safer recruitment practice, controlled access and visitor ID checks, round-the-clock CCTV, authorised-collection rules with identity verification, and clear reporting lines for any concern raised by staff or parents.
  • 3. Equal Opportunities
Our commitment to welcoming every child and family, and to an inclusive environment in which each child is valued as an individual, is treated fairly, and is supported to progress at their own pace according to their own interests and abilities.
  • 4. Child Behaviour
How we guide behaviour: clear, consistent boundaries set in a calm and caring environment, positive encouragement rather than punishment, age-appropriate expectations, and educators who help children name and manage their feelings as part of the EYFS personal, social and emotional development area.
  • 5. Parent Partnership
How we work with families: a named Key Person for every child, the daily communication diary, real-time updates and photographs, settling-in plans, our open-door policy, newsletters and notices, and the route for raising a concern: your child’s educator first, then the Director. See our parents as partners page.
  • 6. Staffing
Covers qualifications and recruitment: educators qualified in the EYFS, holding valid childcare and paediatric first-aid qualifications and with prior nursery experience, rigorously background-checked before they start, and completing a minimum of 30 hours of professional training every year. See our careers page.
  • 7. Nursery Operations
The day-to-day running of the nursery: opening hours and session times, arrival and collection procedures including late collection, what to bring each day, our strict no-nuts and no-sugar food policy, outings and monthly-theme field trips, record keeping, and admissions and enrolment procedures.

Reading a policy in full

The summaries above are a guide, not the documents themselves. Hard copies of all our policies and procedures are kept in the reception area at Villa No.2, 43rd Street, Tawam, Asharej, and you are welcome to sit and read them whenever you visit.

If you would rather talk something through, call us on +971 3 766 5414, Sunday to Thursday between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM. You can also raise any question with your child’s educator, or with the Director.
