Frequently Asked
Questions About Little Regent Nursery

We value the partnership between home and school, with open communication and shared support around your child.

  • 1. Where is Little Regent Nursery located?
We are in a bright, airy villa at Villa No.2, 43rd Street, Tawam, Asharej - directly opposite Al Ain American School - in Al Ain, UAE. We would love to show you around, so do book a visit.
  • 2. What are your opening hours and sessions?
We are open Sunday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, twelve months a year; we close on Friday and Saturday. Children attend either a half day (7:00 AM - 2:00 PM) or a full day (7:00 AM - 5:00 PM), for 3 or 5 days a week.
  • 3. What ages do you accept?
    We welcome children from 2 months to 4 years, across six classes: Waddle Ducks (2 - 6 months), Tiny Toucans (6 - 12 months), Fabulous Flamingos (1 - 2 years), Playful Pandas (2 - 2.5 years), Sparkly Swans (2.5 - 3 years) and Elegant Eagles (3 - 4 years).
  • 4. Can we visit before enrolling?
Please do - a visit is the best way to get to know us. Tours are by appointment: call +971 3 766 5414 or WhatsApp +971 56 947 2424 and we will find a time that suits you.
  • 5. What do I need to register my child?
A signed admission form and medical form, six passport-size photographs, and two copies each of your child's birth certificate, passport with visa page, Emirates ID and immunisation record, plus the sponsor's passport with visa page and a valid health insurance card. Submit everything to admissions@littleregentnursery.ae or in person - the full steps are on our Admissions page.
  • 6. What should my child bring each day?
A labelled water bottle, a spare set of clothes, a small blanket and pillow, a comfort toy if it helps, and two snacks plus lunch. We follow a strict NO NUTS and NO SUGAR policy, so please keep both out of all food sent from home.
  • 7. Who will look after my child?
Your child is cared for by qualified early-years educators in a small class with a low child-to-staff ratio. Every child is also assigned a Key Person - one familiar adult who knows them best, follows their progress and writes their daily communication diary.
  • 8. How do you settle in new children?
Each child has an individual settling-in plan. We usually begin with shorter sessions and a parent close by, then gradually step back as your child grows in confidence - always at their pace, never ours.
  • 9. Can I stay with my child, or call during the day?
Both. We keep an open-door policy, so you are welcome to stay in class while your child settles in, and you can phone at any time of day to hear how they are getting on.
  • 10. How do you make goodbyes easier at drop-off?
A consistent routine helps most: arrive at the same time, hand over to the same educator, and keep the goodbye short, warm and confident. Lingering farewells usually make things harder - we will comfort and engage your little one the moment you leave, and you can always ring to check in.
  • 11. How will I know what my child did each day?
Every child goes home with a daily communication diary covering meals, sleep, activities and mood. We also keep families in the loop through email, our SMS centre, newsletters and the parents' notice board.
  • 12. Can parents get involved in nursery life?
We love it when they do. Parents join our events and open days, volunteer in the classroom, come in to read to the children, and lend a hand at bake sales - there is always a way to be part of nursery life.
  • 13. How is my child's progress assessed?
Through observation rather than testing. Each child has a learning journey that tracks their development across the seven EYFS areas, full of "WOW moments" captured by their Key Person - and it is shared with you, so you see the growth as it happens.
  • 14. What language does the nursery use?
Little Regent is an English-language nursery: teaching, play and daily care all take place in English.
  • 15. Do the children go on outings?
Yes - field trips are linked to our monthly themes, with visits to places like the zoo, a farm, the park and a bakery. You are always informed in advance and asked for consent before any outing.
  • 16. What happens if my child becomes unwell at nursery?
Our full-time registered nurse will call you straight away, and your child can rest comfortably in the on-site clinic until you arrive. To protect all the children, we ask for 48 hours at home after the start of antibiotics, or after vomiting or diarrhoea. We can only administer medication prescribed by a doctor, in its original packaging, with your written authorisation.
  • 17. What if my child has an accident?
Children are supervised at every moment, and we have a full-time nurse on site with a doctor on call. If anything happens you are telephoned immediately, and every incident is written up on a form for you to review and sign.
  • 18. What safety and security measures are in place?
All staff are trained in paediatric first aid and fire safety, and we run regular mock drills. We partner with Oasis Hospital through the Wee-Care programme, monitor the premises with round-the-clock CCTV, verify every visitor's ID, and keep classrooms child-proofed with padded, anti-skid flooring.
  • 19. How do you handle behaviour?
With clear, consistent boundaries in a calm, caring environment. We guide children gently, notice and praise the positive, and help them understand their feelings as they learn.
  • 20. What if I am running late for pick-up?
Please call ahead so we can reassure your child. If you cannot collect them yourself, give us the details of the person who will, in advance: children are released only to adults you have authorised, and we verify ID before every collection. If we cannot reach you or your emergency contacts at the end of the nursery day, we have a duty to contact the relevant authorities.
  • 21. What if I have a concern about my child?
Start with your child's educator, who knows them best day to day. If you would like to take it further, our Director's door is always open.
  • 22. Do you provide bus transport?
Not at the moment. A bus service for children aged 2 and above is planned - ask our admissions team for the latest update.
  • 23. Can my child join mid-term, and how do fees work?
Yes - we enrol children all year round, and mid-term joiners pay pro-rated fees for the remainder of the term. Contact us for the current fee schedule on +971 3 766 5414 or admissions@littleregentnursery.ae. Session options are on our Sessions & Fees page.
