Sparkly Swans: imagination takes flight
Our Sparkly Swans class · 2.5–3 years
Swans are nearly three, and it shows: longer sentences, longer games, longer attention for a good story. This class stretches all of it, keeping learning playful while quietly preparing children for the Foundation Stage.

What learning looks like at this age
All seven EYFS areas are in full swing for Sparkly Swans:
- Literacy: first Jolly Phonics sounds, library and reading time, and plenty of mark-making.
- Mathematics: counting, comparing, shapes and patterns through games and little chefs sessions.
- Expressive Arts & Understanding the World: role play in the home corner, Little Einsteins (STEM) investigations and nature explorers.
The prime areas keep growing too: speaking up at circle time, managing feelings with friends, and mastering the climbing equipment outdoors.
A week with the Swans
Swans arrive from 7:00 AM and move through free play, circle time, a phonics or number moment, creative work, outdoor play, lunch and rest. Show & tell and puppet shows punctuate the week, and field trips, the zoo, the farm, the park, the bakery, follow our monthly themes.
The half day ends at 2:00 PM and the full day at 5:00 PM, on 3 or 5 days a week, all year round.
Close care, clear communication
Like every Little Regent class, Sparkly Swans is small, with a low child-to-staff ratio, a Key Person for each child and a daily communication diary home to parents. Learning journeys and WOW moments keep you close to your child's progress across all seven areas.
What comes next
At three, Swans graduate to Elegant Eagles, our Foundation Stage class, where phonics, early maths and school readiness step forward. Read more on the Elegant Eagles page.
