Elegant Eagles: ready to soar to school
Our Elegant Eagles class · 3–4 years
Eagles are our oldest children, in their final year before big school. The class keeps the joy of learning through play while building the phonics, number sense, confidence and independence that make the move to school feel easy.

What learning looks like at this age
Foundation Stage planning covers all seven EYFS areas, with the specific areas coming to the fore:
- Literacy: daily Jolly Phonics, blending first sounds, early writing and a growing love of books.
- Mathematics: numbers and counting with purpose, plus space, shape & measure explored through hands-on challenges.
- Understanding the World & Expressive Arts: Little Einsteins (STEM), technology, nature explorers, craft, music and performance.
Just as important are the habits school will ask for: listening in a group, taking turns, finishing a task, managing coats and lunchboxes, practised daily until they are second nature.
A purposeful, playful day
The Eagle day runs from 7:00 AM with free-flow play, phonics and maths moments, project work that can stretch across days, outdoor play and library time. Show & tell builds confident speaking, and themed field trips bring each month's topic to life.
Half-day Eagles finish at 2:00 PM; the full day runs to 5:00 PM. Attend 3 or 5 days a week, year-round, many families step up to 5 days in this final year.
Small class, big picture
Eagles still enjoy small classes and low child-to-staff ratios, a Key Person who knows exactly where each child is across the seven EYFS areas, and a daily diary home to parents. Learning journeys and WOW moments build into a rich record you can share with your child's next school.
What comes next
After Elegant Eagles, children graduate to school, confident, curious and ready. Their learning journey goes with them, giving their new teachers a running start. Ask us about school readiness on a visit.

We teach Jolly Phonics every day, but through songs, actions and games rather than worksheets, playful on the surface, systematic underneath.
What timings are available?
Half day 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM or full day 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, on 3 or 5 days a week, Sunday to Thursday, open 12 months a year.
